Hello, my name is Camilla (Camie) Dziadosz, and I am an emerging multidisciplinary artist from Illinois, currently based in Chicago. I am a first-generation American; my mother immigrated from Poland, and my biological father is from Mexico. I speak some Polish and Spanish and am working on developing my fluency in both.

Painting is my most developed medium, but my practice extends across dance, performance, writing, music, photography/video, and fashion. I am interested in making work that feels both bodily and designed, and I am particularly drawn to the tension between these two modes of making. At times, one takes precedence over the other; I am interested in finding ways for visceral expression and intentional design to coexist within the same work.

My drive to create is often led by my own emotional landscape, as well as the ways I experience sound and music. My background in psychology also informs my curiosity about emotion, perception, behavior, interpersonal dynamics, and the body. Across mediums, I am drawn to translating these internal experiences into something physical, visual, or performative.

Outside of creating, I enjoy listening to music, being in nature, dancing, watching films, cooking, reading, thrifting, spending time with friends and family, organizing, and researching.

As I continue developing my practice, my current focus is on building a cohesive body of visual work while further exploring performance, video, and other time-based forms. In the long term, I hope to create increasingly interdisciplinary work that brings these different parts of my practice into conversation with one another.
